An Open Letter to Evan Prodromou
Evan,
It's obvious that you've put a lot of effort into making Pump.io what it is today. And it's obvious that you continue to care about the project, since I still see you in my stream, and you still put effort into running your various instances. So this isn't a personal attack, and not me claiming that you've done anything evil.
But you seem to not have any time to put into the project anymore. Pump.io is usable, yes, but it could be way, way more pleasant. This open PR reminds me of why LibreSSL was forked - because OpenSSL wouldn't merge a one-line patch. The last commit to master was over a year ago. Pump.io is stagnant.
I get it. You have other projects, and you don't have time anymore. I don't want to tell you what to do with your time. But if you decide that you can't do Pump.io anymore, you must nominate a new maintainer, who can actively merge PRs and keep things running. Pump.io shouldn't go out like this.
With <3,
Alex
