Maybe new terminology is needed. I see programs being described as "light" and even "ultralight." Back in the 90s these programs were just normal. They weren't "light" or anything special. Calling programs light these days implies there's something special about them and that the un-light versions are normal. Let's redefine that: They're not light; they're normal. I'm keeping positive thoughts for my cat, Colin. He vomited 13 times today which really concerned me so I took him to the vet. They say it's good that I brought him in because he's very sick. They will be keeping him overnight on IV meds and update me tomorrow about how he responds.AJ Jordan likes this.

It feels like I always have to fight with the kernel. A new GCC comes out but not all kernel versions are happy with it. Or maybe they're okay with the new GCC but are unhappy with the current binutils version. Etc. So I keep having to add differing combinations of exceptions to my script.AJ Jordan likes this.

I had a facepalm moment this morning. I'd plugged a drive into a computer and then SSHed into it from across the room to start working but couldn't find the drive. A USB flash drive seemed to have failed. After taking it apart to retrieve the flash memory chip inside I proceeded to pulverize it into a fine powder that I called "flash memory dust." It felt very cathartic.AJ Jordan likes this.

I'm offended by the attempt, but I'm also going to be offended by their poor production values and lack of conviction. They'll all walk away eventually, confederate flags folded, and later reminisce about their exciting half-hour in the Capitol building. Real revolutionaries don't line up to use the porta-potty.
